After months of intense suffering as the result of tuberculosis, death came to the relief of Wallace E., youngest son of Mr. & Mrs. Austin Brown of Oakland, Sunday night last at 9:30 o'clock and while his death had been momentarily expected for many weeks, still the announcement came as a distinct shock to the young man's many friends here where he was held in high regard by thr entire populace of the town. until his health became impaired he was associated in business as the junior partner in the firm of Austin Brown & Son, merchants. Early last fall he went to the State Sanitorium at Sabillasville, Md., for treatment and after remaining there several weeks without materially benefitted he was brought to his home in Oakland where his latter days were spent and where he was tenderly cared for by a devoted mother and sister. he was aged 27 years and grew from boyhood to manhood among the Oakland people. His funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the services at the home being conducted by the Rev. W.m. Shultz of the M.E. Church and Rev. A.D. Appleton of the P.E. Church.
