    3. Died Friday evening at the residence of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Savadge, near Swanton. Mrs. Albert Montgomery, of Cumberland. Deceased was thirty-nine years of age and leaves four small children. She had been a sufferer from that dreadful disease, consumption, for several years. Still a great many were surprised and shocked to hear of her death. The sorrowing husband and relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement. The Republican - October, 20, 1898 SAVAGE-Calvin Sagage [sic], age 64 years, died at the home of his son Charles R. Savage at Deer Park on Tuesday, May 16. The funeral will take place tomorrow at 10:30 o'clock. The Republican - May 18, 1899 The funeral of the late Calvin Savage took place last Friday afternoon at 2:30 from the residence of his son, C. R. Savage. The remains were taken to the Lutheran Church where Rev. J. H. Funk, conducted the funeral services, after which the funeral preceded to the Deer Park cemetery where all that was mortal of Mr. Savage was tenderly laid to rest. The pall bearers were Messrs. S. P. Specht, A. Freeland, Jos. Lashorn, John Hanes, Jos. Bowser and S. Hinebaugh. Mr. Savage was born January 2, 1835, he was married to Miss Sarah A. Smalley, of Waynesburg, PA. Twelve children blessed their union- five sons and seven daughters, five of whom preceded their dear father to that "better land from which none returneth." The remaining members of the family are Mrs. Emma Roys, of Connellsville, PA; J. Marshall Savage, of Washington, D.C.; Miss Jeanetta, of Hot Springs, VA; C. R. William, John and Lawson, of Deer Park. Mr. Savage was a resident of Garrett County for forty four years. The entire community extend sympathy to the family in their affliction and bereavement. The Republican -May 25, 1899
