    3. OAKLAND, Nov 10, William Richard Browning, 75, former member of the Democratic State Central Committee in Garrett County, died about noon today at his residence on Second Street. He had been ill a year. Mr. Browning was born May 23, 1876, a son of the late John Truman and Florence (Jamison) Browning. He held membership in St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society of the parish and the Knights of Columbus. Well known in political and agriculture circles, Mr. Browning was a charter member of the Oakland Fire Department. He had been engaged in the gas and oil business. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Esther (Maroney) Browning, two sisters, Miss Zadie Browning, Oakland, and Mrs. Frances Mountain, Hollidaysburg, PA; a brother, Frank R. Browning, Akron and a number of nieces and nephews. A requiem mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Church by Rev. Michael Carney, pastor. Frazee Oakland, MD, July 22- The funeral of Mrs. Rose Browning Frazee, wife of R. E. Frazee, of Oakland, who died Friday in Mercy Hospital, Baltimore, where she had been a patient for two weeks, was conducted this morning from St. Peter's Church, the Rev. John G. Broderick, pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Catholic cemetery. She was a daughter of the late John T. and Florence L. Browning, and a granddaughter of the late Meshach Browning, pioneer hunter and settler of this county and author of "Forty-Four Years, The Life of a Hunter." Surviving are her husband, four sisters, and two brothers, Mrs. Andrew W. Helbig, Miss Zaidee Browning, Mrs. E. W. Helbig and William R. Browning, Oakland; Mrs. John R. Mountain, a twin sister, of Hollidaysburg, PA, and Frank R. Browning, Willard, OH Cumberland Evening Times July 22, 1940 Mrs. William Browning OAKLAND-Mrs. Rose Esther Browning, 66, died Saturday in Garrett County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient one day. A lifelong resident of Oakland, Mrs. Browning was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Faherty) Maroney and was the widow of William R. Browning. She was a registered nurse and graduated from Wheeling, WV, Hospital in 1914. During World War I she served with the Army Nurse Corps. Mrs. Browning was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the church. She also was a member of the Historical Society and the Civic Club. Survivors include a brother, John Maroney, of here, and five sisters, Miss Bridget Maroney, of here; Sister Mary Bertille, Wheeling; Mrs. Catherine Robins, New York City, and Misses Agnes and Monica Maroney, both of Clarksburg, WV. The body is at the Minnich Funeral Home where the family will receive friend from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church by Rev Michael Carney, pastor. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. Cumberland Evening Times Feb 20, 1961
