Mt. Storm, WV - The body of Staff Sgt. James Endler Junkins, 29, who was killed in action May 4, 1945, on Okinawa, will arrive in Blaine Saturday morning and be taken to the Sharpless Funeral Home. Born December 25, 1915, in Emoryville, he was the son of Mrs. Zoe (Endler) Junkins and the late George Daniel Junkins. Sgt. Junkins entered the service Sept 15, 1941 and received his basic training at Camp Walters, Texas. he went overseas in April 1842. Prior to entering the service he engaged in farming. Besides his mother, he is survived by a brother and sister, Harold and Thelma E. Junkins, both at home. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in Mount Storm Methodist Church, Rev. James E. Hodges, pastor, will officiate. He will be assisted by Rev. Jonathan Edwards, Kitzmiller Presbyterian minister and former Army chaplain. Burial will be in Hartmansville Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars of Petersburg. Cumberland Evening Times March 17, 1949 Gormania, WV- Mrs. Zoe Junkins, 92, of here, died today at the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. A native of Bismark, WV, she was a daughter of the late James H. and Mollie E. (Hilkey) Endler. Her husband, George D. Junkins, preceded her in death. Mrs. Junkins was a member of the Mt. Storm United Methodist Church and a life member of the Petersburg American Legion Auxiliary. Surviving are one daughter, Miss Thelma Junkins, here; one son, Harold Junkins, Mt. Storm; two sisters, Mrs. Cora Wilson and Mrs. Marion Wilkins, both of here; one grandson and two great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Minnich-Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be conducted at the Mt. Storm United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. Monday by Rev. Robert C. Cole. Interment will be in the Hartmansville Cemetery.
