There are various spellings of the name of Amos' second wife, e.g., Alice Warnick or Eliza Warwick. Information about the wife is sparse. (Does anyone know anything more about her?) There is too little info to reliably place her on the Warnick family tree. News (Frederick, MD) Jan 28, 1895 [Was Eliza WARWICK Miss Eliza WARNICK?] Sanford Broadwater, a retired merchant of Grantsville, MD, came down stairs from his room about ten o'clock yesterday morning and as he passed through the hall to the yard told his wife not to call him to dinner until after the "awful crash." She gave his words little thought until she heard the report of a revolver and running to the woodshed in the back yard found Mr. Broadwater lying on the floor with a bullet hole just back of the right ear. Help was called and he was removed to the house in a semi-conscious condition. Dr. Lichty, of this place, was called there as soon as possible in consultation with the doctors of Grantsville, and stated tonight that there was little hopes for his recovery. Mr. Broadwater is a brother of Gilmore Broadwater, a farmer near Grantsville, and Noah, who is a merchant in the same town.
