    3. Shaw, WV- Hester Ann Kitzmiller, 87, died yesterday morning at her home here following a prolonged illness. A native of Shaw, she spent her entire life in this section and was the last member of the immediate family. She belonged to the Shaw Methodist Church over 50 years. She was born May 9, 1861, a daughter of the late Hanson Lewis and Elizabeth Catherine (Dixon) Kitzmiller. She was the divorced wife of John L. Myers. Survivors include a daughter, Miss Otella Kitzmiller, Shaw, and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. in Nethken Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Edwards, of Kitzmiller Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery, Elk Garden. Cumberland Evening Times Sept 2, 1948 Mrs. Asa T. Matthews, 56, died at her home on Second Street, Oakland, last Thursdays afternoon, February 6, following a lingering illness. She had been a semi-invalid for a number of years and had been bedfast since August. Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon from the home, Rev. William Ashley, officiating, assisted by Rev. Charles A. Shilke. Interment was in the Oakland cemetery. Mrs. Matthews was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel C. Hoye, of Deer Park. She was married to Mr. Matthews in 1924, in Oakland, by Rev. W. F. Bayle, then rector of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church. Besides her husband she is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Felty, of Rowlesburg, WV. Mr. Matthews is district counsel, Home Owners Loan Corporation with headquarters in the Federal building, this city. Cumberland Evening Times - Feb 14, 1936 [Mrs. Matthews was Mary E. "Nellie" Hoye, granddaughter of David Hoye and Elizabeth Friend Hoye] Oakland, MD, Feb 14- Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Lewis, 92, died at the home of Marshall Friend, near Bray school house, on Sunday. She was the wife of Henry Lewis, a Civil War veteran, who died in 1910. She was born at Sang Run and had been a member of the M. W. Church for 75 years. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the home of Marshall Friend, Rev. C. Skipper officiating. Interment was in the family cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times - Feb 14, 1936 [Mary Elizabeth Lewis was the daughter of Levi Friend] Oakland, MD, Feb 14 - Mrs Laura Spiker, 57, wife of Sidney Spiker, died at her home at Mt. Lake Park on Sunday evening following a short illness. The funeral was conducted from the Leighton Funeral Home on Wednesday afternoon in charge of Rev. David C. Trimble of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, assisted by Rev. I. S. Middaugh. Interment was in Oakland cemetery. Besides her husband, she leave three sisters, Mrs. Lowvilla Lewis, Cranesville; Mrs. Cal Groves, White Oak; Mrs. John Matheny, Hoye's Run; one brother, Joseph Lewis, Lake Ford; and also the following children at home: Minttie, Clarence, Winnie, Harland and Mava.
