Mrs. John Wesley Markley Mrs. Mary Blanche Markley, 82, wife of John W. Markley, died at her home near Sines, Garrett County, Tuesday afternoon. Mrs. Markley, a daughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Taylor Sines, is survived by her husband, two sons and a daughter, Herbert Markley, of Johnstown, PA; Elwood Arthur Markley, Oakland, and Mrs. Goldie Smith, of Grantsville; also nine grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Teets, Cranesville, WV; Mrs. O. R. Leighton, Oakland; Mrs. Ida Markley, Hutton. Funeral services were conducted yesterday afternoon with interment in Taylor Sines cemetery. Born April 17, 1868, here, he was a son of the late Eli and Mary E. (Friend) Reams. He was a member of the Pine Grove Brethren Church and is survived by one son, Bliss Reams, Oakland; three daughter, Mrs. Eva O'Haver, Oakland; Mrs. Loa Mellot, Needmore, PA, and Mrs. Edna Cross, Mt. Lake Park; one sister, Mrs. A. L. Sines of here; one brother, Newt A. Reams, Oakland; 42 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Services will be held tomorrow at 2:30 at Pine Grove Church with Rev. E. T. Fike, Terra Alta, officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Sines Cemetery, Swallow Falls. Cumberland Evening Times - Aug 28, 1958 Oakland- Mrs. Bertie May Reams, 68, who died Wednesday at her home in the Swallow Falls area, was buried yesterday from Pine Grove Church of the Brethren, of which she was a member. Interment was in the Taylor Sines Cemetery. Born May 16, 1883, Mrs. Reams was the daughter of the late Cornellus and Tabitha (Everett) Johnson. She was the widow of David Reams, who died in 1947. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James Friend, Oakland, and Mrs. W. W. Riley, Baltimore; a stepson, Harry Reams, Mt. Lake Park; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Sines and Mrs. Hattie Miller, both of Clarksburg; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Cumberland Times - Jan 27, 1952 Oakland, Jan 18 - Israel Thompson Spiker, 91, who died Tuesday at his home in Swallow Falls, was buried yesterday afternoon in Bray cemetery. Funeral services were conducted in Pine Grove Church at Swallow Falls. Mr. Spiker was born May 7, 1855, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Spiker. Besides his widow, Mrs. Etta (DeWitt) Spiker, he is survived by son, Walter Spiker, Oakland; four daughters, , Mrs. Flora Skipper, Tunnelton, WV; Mrs. Grace Lewis and Mrs. Mary F. Sines, both of Oakland, and Mrs. Maude Swearman, of Mt. Savage; 27 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Fraker and Rev. George Simpson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. DeWitt was born April 18, 1869, at Hoyes, a son of the late Archibald and Ellen (Chambers) DeWitt. He held membership in Paradise United Brethren Church near Deer Park. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Vernie DeWitt; two daughters, Mrs. Ellen Porter, Cumberland and Mrs. Violet Randalls, Westernport; four sons, David DeWitt, Artesia, NM; Ivan DeWitt, Cumberland; Pryce DeWitt, Newport News, VA, and Wilbert DeWitt, at home; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Spiker, Oakland; Mrs. Vada Nine, Johnstown, PA, and Mrs Ida Snyder, Schenectady, NY and one brother Vinley DeWitt, Scottsdale, PA.
