Cumberland News, Dec 8, 1970:  John W. Deetz, 71, of 848 Camden Ave, died yestday at Sacred heart Hospital. Born in Cumberland, he was a son of the latae Robert R. and Annie (Wilkerson) Deetz. He was a member of Fort Cumberland Lodge, AFand AM, the American Legion and St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Surviving is his widow, Marguerite (Boston) Deetz. The body is at the Stein Funeral Home where friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. in St Paul's lutheran Church by Rev. Richard manning.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to St. Paul's Lutheran Church memorial fund.  The body will be taken to the church at noon tomorrow.
