    3. THought everyone would like to know this.. Sonny -------Original Message------- Subject: Ruth Enlow Library's new obit database. Hi Mr O'Haver, My name is Addie Glotfelty and I work in the Local History/Genealogy department at the Oakland branch of the Ruth Enlow Library. I would like to share some good news with you and hope that you will be able to pass this on to those who might benefit from it. We have recently added an obituary database to our website and would love to share this information with all those folks who might benefit from giving it a try. We are scanning all obits/death notices/death articles from the Republican microfilm we have here at the library. We then load this information, along with an actual scanned image of the obit/article, onto our database and make it available to the public. The address for this site is www.relib.net/obits or folks can simply visit the Ruth Enlow Library website at www.relib.net then go to the Local History and Genealogy page and click on the link at the top of the page there. We have started with the very first Republican in March of 1877 and are working our way up to the present day. We are at the year 1900 presently but are diligently working every week to add more. We hope this will be another great resource for all who are searching out their ancestors and family history. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me at the information listed below. Take care and have a wonderful day, Addie Glotfelty Genealogy and Local History Ruth Enlow Library 6 North Second St Oakland MD 21550 301-334-3996 (Voice Mailbox #207) addie@relib.net

    3. Thanks so very much for sharing this! I finally found the obituary of my 2nd Great-Grandfather. I also discovered that the reason I was having such a difficult time finding it was that The Republican misspelled his name! The obituary says that he was married twice and that there was a daughter from the first marriage so now I have another branch to pursue. Thanks, again! Robert P.S. Can anyone tell me where The Republican was published?
