The Cumberland Evening Times, 1 June 1970:  Westernport - V. Marshall Dayton, 79, formerly of 213 Vine Street, died this morning in Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser.  Prior to entering the hospital, he was a patient in the Deakins Nursing Home, Aurora, W. Va. A native of Westernport, he was a son of the late Henry C. and Emma (Dawson) Dayton.  He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Mr. Dayton was a retired employee of the Like Mill of Westvaco. Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home where the family will receive friends tomorrow and Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral  home on Thursday at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery.
