    3. Mrs. Grace Moon Beckman Tichnell, aged 72, of Loch Lynn area, died Monday, Feb 3, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland where she had been admitted Sunday. A native of Mineral County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Solomon and Anna Smith Moon, and was born May 9, 1891. Survivors include her husband, Gilmore Tichnell; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Griggs, Wheeling, WV; Mrs. Catherine West, Reynoldsburg, OH; three sons, Howard Beckman, Weston, WV; Clarence Beckman, Swanton; Russell Beckman, Oldtown; six step-children, Mrs. Mildred Matlick, McCoole; Mrs. Florence Carrington, Bessemer, AL; Mrs. Lee Steyer, Deer Park; Elmer Tichnell, Atlanta, GA; Charles Tichnell, Deer Park; a sister, Mrs. E. O. Liller, Mt. Lake Park; a brother, Isaac Moon, Kitzmiller; 14 grandchildren and 14 step-grandchildren. Mrs. Tichnell was a member of the Ev. U. B. Church of Loch Lynn Heights. The body was taken to Leighton-Durst Funeral home in Oakland. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Ev. U. B. Church in Loch Lynn by Rev. Oscar W. Hull, pastor. Interment was in the Tichnell Cemetery at Chestnut Grove. Hand dated 1964 Oakland-Frank Friend, 27, Confluence, PA, a native of the Friendsville section, died May 30 at a hospital in Uniontown, PA, from injuries caused by a falling tree. Authorities said the accident occurred near Farmington. He had been employed as a Timberman. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Glenna Friend; one son and his mother, Mrs. Wesley Friend, near Friendsville, and a number of brothers and sisters. Rites were held June 2 in Blooming Rose Church with Rev. Howard R. Hall, pastor, officiating. Oakland Post No. 8409, Veterans of Foreign Wars, accorded military honors at the grave in the church cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times - June 14, 1951 Mrs. Melinda Katharine Lewis Friend, 83, died June 13 at her home in Friendsville. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jonathan Lewis of the Swallow Falls community and was born in West Virginia. Her husband, Marion Friend of Friendsville, preceded her in death many years ago, as did one son, Charles. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. J. M. Newcomer of McClellantown, Pa.; three sons, Ross, Sherman and Milford Friend, all of Friendsville; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. J. W. Lewis, of Hutton and three brothers, Joseph Lewis of Elk Garden, W. Va.; Daniel and John, both of Pennsylvania. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, afternoon, June 15, in the home of her son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Friend, by the Rev. W. E. Wade, pastor of the Friendsville Methodist church. Special music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Groves with Mrs. Elizabeth Pryor accompanying. Interment was in the Steele cemetery, Friendsville.
