He married Mary Minerva Dawson who was born 2/16/1854. At the time of their marriage in 1874, he gave his age as 23 and her age as 20. In 1880, the family lived in Allegany County, but by 1900, they were living in the part of Garrett County known as the Elbow. At one time, Buck was a trustee of the Warnick public school in Garrett County. The Warnick school was located near Merrill and Piney Run in the Savage River valley. Mary died 4/13/1918. Buck died on 2/13/1931, having been struck by an automobile in a hit-and-run accident.
