    3. Ethel Blosser Krizan, 66, of Friendsville, MD, died Tuesday at University Hospital. She was born at Hazelton May 7, 1906, a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Uphold Casteel. She was preceded in death by her husband, George, in 1957. She was a member of the Laurel Run Church of God. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary Bee of Morgantown; Mrs. Nellie Wachob of Baltimore, and Mrs. Loretta Mundell of Ravena, OH; one step daughter, Mrs. Dolly Hess of Morgantown; four step sons, Clark, Lonnie, Lester and Wayne, all of Morgantown; two brothers, Lloyd and Junior Casteel both of Friendsville; four sisters, Mrs. Carrie Cantis of Morgantown, Mrs. Mary Balsley of Isabella, PA, Mrs. Gladys Baker of Hazelton, and Mrs. Bertha Federica of Friendsville; 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Dominion-News, Morgantown, WV - June 21, 1972 Bertha Belle Federica, 87, Friendsville, died Friday, Nov 29, 1996, at Garrett County Memorial Hospital, Oakland. Born Feb 24, 1909, in Garrett County, she was a daughter of Jacob and Malinda Jane (Uphold) Casteel. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Federica. She is survived by a brother, Lloyd Casteel, Accident, and a sister, Carrie Cantis, Morgantown, WV. Friends were received at the Newman Funeral Home, Friendsville, where a service was conducted Sunday, Dec. 1. Interment was in the Blooming Rose Cemetery, near Friendsville. (From my personal collection-Unknown newspaper) Oakland- Nov 5-- Mrs. Harriet Anne Kelley, 77, widow of William Harrison Kelly, died Friday at her home in White Rock, near Friendsville, following a brief illness. Her parents were the late Calvin and Susanna Uphold. Mrs Kelly was a member of the Church of God. Her husband died in April, 1941. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Delia VanSickle, Mrs. Sara Savage and Arthur Kelly, all of Friendsville; Mrs. Louetta VanSickle of Terra Alta, WV; Mrs. Nora Savage of McHenry, and Mrs. Cassie Rodeheaver and Mrs. Mary Friend, of Morgantown, WV; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Sliger, Mrs. Rosa Casteel, Mrs. Jane Casteel and Mrs. Elizabeth Thomas; two brothers, John C. and William Uphold, of Friendsville; and a half sister, Pearl Reckart; two half brothers, Ellsworth and Walter Uphold, of Lake Lynn, PA; 35 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in Blooming Rose church. Interment was in the church cemetery. Cumberland Evening Times - Nov 5, 1946
