Mrs. Clinton Morgan, aged 70 years, of Loch Lynn Heights, wife of the late Clinton Morgan, died at her home on Saturday night. Funeral services were held Monday morning from the U. B. Church in Loch Lynn. Interment was made in the Oakland cemetery. The deceased is survived by four children, Clinton, John, and Minnie Morgan and Mrs. Savage. (Hand dated Sept 13, 1928) Probably published in The Republican Newspaper, Oakland, MD John Murphy, an aged and highly respected citizen of our county died at his home near Bond on Friday of last week of dropsy and other complications. His remains were buried near his home on last Sunday and was attended by a large concourse of neighbors and friends. The Garrett Journal June 29, 1906 Andrew Mullen, on of the pioneer business men of Bloomington this county, who recently moved from Bloomington to Piedmont, to spend his remaining days, died at his home in that place on Monday at the ripe old age of 84 years. He was identified with the early history of Garrett County and had held several positions in its early history. His remains were buried at Piedmont, on last Tuesday. Garrett Journal, Nov 24, 1910 Mrs. Joseph Moreland- Mrs. Ellen Brown Moreland, wife of judge Joseph Moreland, is dead, at Morgantown, WV, age 50 years. She was a sister of Mrs. D. I. Totten of Oakland and the late Commander R.M.G. Brown, U. S. N., a son-in-law of Henry G. Davis. Mrs. Totten went to Morgantown on Thursday to attend the funeral. Garrett Journal, Sept 22, 1910 Our venerable farmer friend Jacob Mosser, residing near Accident, this county, passed to the great beyond on last Sunday evening at the advanced age of 72 years. The cause of his death was heart disease, from which he had suffered a considerable time. He is survived by his devoted wife and a host of nearby relatives. His remains were buried at the Accident cemetery at 10 o'clock a.m. last Tuesday. Mr. Mosser was one of our warmest friends in that section of the county and rarely ever came to Oakland without calling in and passing the joke with us. He will be sadly missed by a large concourse of friends, and our sympathy is extended to his bereaved widow in her hour of grief. The Garrett Journal, Sept 21, 1905 Mrs. Sarah Mosser, widow of the late Jacob Mosser of Accident, this county, died at the home of her daughter near that place on last Thursday of a complication of diseases, at the age of 70 years. Mrs. Mosser had recently spent a few months with relatives at Mt. Lake Park and Deer Park but had returned to her old home owning to her enfeebled condition. She was a daughter of the late Samuel Specht and a sister of S. P. Specht, the Deer Park merchant. Mrs. Mosser was a member of the German Baptist Brethren Church of Accident and her funeral took place at that church near her home on last Friday. Garrett Journal Sept 22, 1910 Claud Fulk Fatally Injured In Mine Accident at Crellin Claud Fulk, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Fulk of Crellin, this county, died Friday afternoon, April 19th, following injuries sustained while at work in the mines of the Stanley Coal Company Inc. at Crellin. Young Fulk was a brakeman on one of the trolley motors in the mines and was injured while placing some empty cars on a side track, pushing him against the rib of coal, crushing his right leg. He was immediately removed from the mines and taken to his home, where he was rendered first aid by Dr. H. W. McComas. The Bolden Ambulance was summoned to take him to a hospital in Cumberland but he died enroute, from the shock of the accident, it was stated. His body was returned to Oakland and was prepared for burial at the Bolden Undertaking Parlor and later removed to his home in Crellin. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. C. A. Shilke, pastor of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oakland, in the Lutheran Church at Red House on Sunday afternoon and interment made in the Red House cemetery. (Probably published in The Republican, Oakland, MD) Hand dated May 9, 1929 Orville Feather had his neck broken about 11;15 o'clock Sunday morning when he accidently fell down the front steps of his home on Third St., Oakland. He died a few minutes later. Funeral services were held yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Cranesville M. E. Church. Interment was made in the home cemetery about 5 miles from Cranesville. The deceased was born May 10, 1870, at Cranesville, but had lived at Oakland for a number of years. He is survived by his wife, of Oakland, and two sons, Frank and Leo, both of Kingwood, WV. (No date or source of publication is given) Mrs. George Fulmer, wife of the late George Fulmer, resident of Garrett County for twenty five years, died in Akron, Ohio. The body was brought to Oakland Saturday evening, on train No. 11 and was taken to Bolden's Funeral Parlor. Services were held in St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Oakland, conducted by Rev. Shilke. One son, Freddie, of Cleveland, OH and one daughter, Mrs Florence Sudworth, of Akron, Ohio. [sic] Interment was made in Flatwoods cemetery.
