    3. Pat ...You are wonderful! Thank you so much for the help you've provided thus far! I don't really know just yet about Jefferson...in truth I'm working on this with a far distant cousin (Willis Burch of W.VA) & these are his particular branch of Burch family. Will let you know if he does indeed know about Jefferson...he is just starting out & things are a bit confused for him right now!!!! The news article you sent about Foster Burch & his City Council Campaign was the father of Willis! I forwarded it to him & he was so thrilled ! Thank you again! Take care & God Bless! Clara W. 3. PARENTS OF ELIAS FRANTZ MET WITH TRAGIC DEATH ABOUT SIX YEARS AGO At the funeral Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, of the late Elias W. Frantz, watchman at the Avon crossing of the Reading Railroad, and unfortunate victim of a hit-and-run motorist as he was walking home from his work Sunday night last, relatives recalled the sad fact that his parents were also victims of automobile accidents. His mother and father, Jacob and Mary, on a Sunday last in the fall of 1915, attended services in Royer's Church of the Brethren, located between Myerstown and Richland. They were driving home in a buggy when an auto driven by persons who had sat beside him at the service, tried to pass the vehicle and ripped off the rear wheel of the buggy. Mr. and Mrs. Frantz were thrown out, and Mrs. Frantz died several days later as a direct result of her injuries. Mr. Frantz lived six months longer, but his death was attributed indirectly to the accident, or at least his end was hurried thereby. The funeral of the son, who resided at Walnut Street, was held at the Rohland Funeral Home The Rev. Will F. Baro, pastor of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, East Lohman St., officiated. Burial was made at Long's Church cemetery, near Stouchsburg. Lebanon, PA -The Lebanon Semi-Weekly News June 8, 1931 Does anyone know if this Frantz family is related to the Garrett County, MD Frantz family?

    3. A telegram received by Mr. Alvey Frantz last evening from Huntington, WV, contained the following message; "Come at once; your father dying." Immediately upon receipt of the message Mr. Frantz started for the above mention place on Express train No. 1. This morning a telegram to this city announced the death of Mr. Joseph Frantz at 9 o'clock last night. Up until the time of going to press no further particulars could be learned. It is suppose by Mr. Frantz's relatives living in this city, that he was injured in a saw mill, as he walks through the mills of Huntington every day. Mr. Frantz is a son of Wm. Frantz, Sr. of this city and was born near Bottle Run, about 62 years ago. At the early age of 17 years Mrs. Frantz married Miss Rosana Miller and the following children survive both mother and father; John N., Alva and Mrs. Mary Miller, all of this city. H. O. of Kansas and Mrs. Sallie Sliger, of Huntington, WV with whom Mr. Frantz was making his home at the time of his death. For a number of years Mr. Frantz owned and conducted a grocery store on the corner of Bedford and Centre Streets now run by his son, J. N. Frantz. He retired from active business some years ago and since that time has been residing with his daughter in Huntington. Mr. Frantz has been a member of the Methodist Church from his boyhood and a good and faithful worker in that church. Besides the children mentioned now living Mr. Frantz leaves the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Wm. Brotemarkle, Mrs. L. F. Gurley and Messrs. Daniel, William and Charles, all of whom reside in this neighborhood. Mr. Frantz's father survives him and is 86 years old. As yet no funeral arrangements have been made. Later-A telegram from Huntington, received just before going to press stated the remains would arrive in this city tomorrow night and the funeral to take place Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the residence of Mr. John Frantz on Columbia Street. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery. Meager Details of the Accident A dispatch from Huntington, WV, gives the following particulars of Mr. Frantz's death: Joseph Frantz, a man of 60, and the father-in-law of Thos. Sliger, the owner of Sliger Mill, in Central City, was fatally injured at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He was at the mill and was working about the veneer saw when he slipped and fell on the rapidly revolving saw. It cut into his right side terribly, severing the muscles of the abdomen and cutting the liver and kidneys and ?? the backbone.
