    3. Hi Carolyn, Yes, this is the Census page I have, showing several of our intermarried names with the Dellenbachs. According to this census they sure did live nearby each other. Branstetter, Loiter, Krebill, Eiler/Eier married the other 4 daughters of Peter Dellenbach. Also, according to Mr. Bylers data, several of these came to U.S. on the same ship, with other Mennonites. We'll track down these folks yet!!!! Thanks for posting. 3. The Finzel Cemetery is very easy to find. Get off 68 at the Finzel exit and go toward Finzel. You just stay on the main road going thru Finzel and you will eventually come to it on the right hand of the road. It's close to the PA state line. -----Original Message----- From: BRichBoyer@aol.com [mailto:BRichBoyer@aol.com] Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2003 5:35 PM To: MDGARRET-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MDGARRET] Cemetery Directions Wondered if anyone could give me driving directions to the Finzel Cemetery, I have relatives buried there and would like to visit. 3. Lois, I haven't come across any Savilles----yet. But some of my intermarried families with the Mosser family must have traveled from eastern PA. south to now WV---Shenandoah & Hardy Counties. I found some Mosser--Frederick family data in Stockton, Shenandoah Co. library. Must have been a major wagon trail down that way. They seemed to have traveled south from Lancaster Co. PA. area then turned north again at Oldtown, MD. or some Allegany Co. MD. area. I think Ann Lock found the Nicholas Mosser family at Oldtown/Skipton in abt. 1800 census. Let you know if I find Saville's. Take Care Pat H.~~~

    1. [MDGARRET] RE: Dellenbach
    2. Patricia Hook
    3. Ann, Carolyn, Lois and other Dellenbach researchers, We also have to consider the spelling TOLOBACH/TOLOBAUGH/TALLOWBACH. I know that in the German language that the "D" & "T" are interchangable. I have had a time with Teets vs Deets, then there is Teats & Deats/Deetz. I find Dellenbach spelled with a "T" in I think it was 1790 Census of Dauphin Co. The Tolobachs were just a few names, so perhaps neighbors, of Mosser, Eyler/Eyer/Eler, Branstetter, Loiter, Krebills. The other 4 Dellenbach sisters married into those families. I will have to dig out my folders of Dellenbach notes. I recently ask my cousin to check with Dauphin Co. courthouse for that Mortgage Record for Magdalena Dellenbach wife of Niclous Moser dated 1797. I believe it was concerning Peter Dellenbachs estate. I wrote John Byler in 1998. I have a copy of his article on Dellenbach, Hershberger and some other intermarried families. His article was in a copy of January 1990 Mennonite Family History titled " The Dellenbach/ Hershberger Connection". I think this is a Mennonite newsletter. If you find anything let me know. I will do likewise. I hope to hear from my cousin concerning that Mortgage record soon. I sent for it by mail months ago. But they returned my money and request stating they can no longer mail Records. I had File number and all, shouldn't have been too much trouble to get it from files. Take Care---Keep in touch Pat Hook

    1. Re: [MDGARRET] Dellenbach???
    2. Lois, That's what I thought. De looked like Bo to transcriber, maybe. The girls names are almost the same as what I have for the 7 sisters who are known to us. Barbara's age would likely fit this record----I have b. "abt. 1750" and this record would put this Barbara b. 1756 and that date would make my Barbara 18 yrs. old at birth of first child in 1774 . This court record names "Abraham" Dellenbach?/Bollenbach as the father, however--? My source for "Peter Dellenbach" as Barbara's father was sent to me by another researcher and it is "Mennonite Family History" by John M. Byler. Wonder if anyone on List has this book-----?? Other "if" questions would be: He could have been Peter Abraham or vs/vs? This Abraham could have just coincidentally named his daughters the same names---or could be a brother who did the same? The only census I have found is: Berks Co, PA 1790 U.S. Census A-F (INDEX - File 1 of 3) PG# LN# LAST NAME FIRST NAME FILE NAME 159 14 Diefenbach Jacob pg0154.txt 130 8 Diefenbach Peter pg0125.txt I need to re-check the Christian Fike book to see what they said about Barbara's parents. Also, need to find where I can buy: DELLENBACH. The Dallenback family in America, 1710-1935, by A.L Dillenbeck & K.M. Dallenbach. 439p. 1935. $67.50----ouch!! Guess I can't hope for someone who reads this letter to HAVE the book and willing to send the information. I am not even sure it will have our Dellenbach's in it. <sigh> =;o) Carolyn TRPLUS@aol.com wrote: > Carolyn, > > Sometimes the B and D are indiscernible from handwriting--Seems awful close > to me. 2. Carolyn, Sometimes the B and D are indiscernible from handwriting--Seems awful close to me. I've seen a lot worse spelling and pronunciation of the same surnames. The individual names within the family also lead me to believe it must be the same surname. The only thing left is the dates -- do they match up? Probably no census to verify or match to see if the neighbors are the same but the surname written differently. So many puzzles. Lois
