    2. Is any researching the Rinehart family of Yough Glades and Garrett Co., MD? I am looking for information on George and Susannah Rinehart whose daughter Margaret married George Loar. 2. Art, I think Lisa Readd has moved since posting in the WV Surname Exchange List. I also decend from the Haskels (Haskiels) and Readds (Redds) of Oakland and Tunnelton. I was wondering how you were related to them. They aren't an easy family to trace.

    3. I found a civil war pension application for John H Friend made by his father Stephen W Friend. My ggm's brother was a servant in the Stephen W. Friend home in 1880. Stephen W's wife was Rebecca and his mother was Rebecca. My ggm's name was Rebecca J. Friend and I now very strongly suspect this is where she connects to the Friends. If anyone can help finish this off w information about JH Friend between 1860 and May 1862 when Rebecca was born, I would greatly appreciate it. Does anyone have a copy of John H's military record or Stephen W's Civil War pension application? Art Grady friendfamilyassociation <friendfamilyassoc@iceweb.net> wrote: John H. 3. Could this be Joseph Harrison Friend (s/o Elijah Sr.) who served in Co. D, 3rd Potomac Home Brigade & was a prisoner at Moorefield, VA during the Civil War? He was living in Sang Run in the 1920 census but his wife Florence was listed as a widow in the 1930 census. I don't know his death date or where he was buried though. ---- Kathleen, J. H. Friend, no dates, but listing the same CW service that you list is buried at the Sang Run Cemetery, per "Graves of Garrett County Maryland" by DAR book. --------- I goofed. For Joseph married to Florence, I have his full name as Joseph Harrison Friend, thus J. H. Friend Joseph Friend, no dates, buried beside Florence , no dates Hoyes Run cemetery, near Deep Creek Power Plant. pg. 134 ---- J. H. Friend, no dates, Co D 3rd MD PHB, C.W. is buried at Sang Run. pg. 233

    3. Kathleen and Shirley D., This is getting interesting now. John Harrison Friend who married Florence Fern Friend, (I have) died between 1922-1924. His youngest child was born 1891 SO, this means the J. H. Friend you are telling us about Shirley, is a different J. H. Friend. Can you give us MORE information about J. H. Friend who died Oct. 11, 1863? Pat

    3. Hi Art, You said: "...Stephen W's wife was Rebecca and his mother was Rebecca...." . Stephen Willis Friend Sr.'s wife was Rebecca Wilhelm but I think his mother was Elizabeth Ward. . Regardless, if Stephen's son "John H. Friend" were Rebecca Jane's father and Friend was actually Rebecca's legal MAIDEN name; could/would not her mother have applied for benefits on Rebecca's behalf? Even if her mother had now married Charles Haskell, Rebecca would still have been entitled, correct? Just stickin' me nose in.
