    3. Janice, Uriah was also known as Mankis. I have also seen the name spelled as Menges. I am not heavily researching his line, but did stumble across a web page listing his parents and grandparents. I haven't had the chance to try to document the information that I saw on it. 3. Jo, Thanks. I couldn't quite place her. I am researching the Sines, Friend, and Wolfe families mainly - but Harriet Jeanette Manges is my 3rd great grandmother - so I am trying to fill in some blanks with her family. 3. Wendy - As you search, you might want to keep the spelling "Mankis" in mind. I have heard Uriah Mankis called that. He seems to have lived on the border of Garrett and Preston Counties. I don't know specifics, just the name Uriah Mankins sticks in my mind, referred to by some older genealogists now deceased. Janice > >

    3. The parents of Margaret Sybillia Friend were William Henry Harrison Friend and Mary Sines Friend. That is my line. She was a sister to Joseph Edward Friend (Sr.). I have a little more on her, but not much. I have not spent much time on her line. The Manges lived in this area of Fayette Co. PA in the past, but we seem to have lost contact. 2. Isn't genealogy fun?
    3. Hello fellow researchers, I am looking for any family members/descendants of the GREEN(e) and SIGLER families who lived in Allegany, and Garrett Co, MD and Licking Co, OH. They had come from...early line...was NJ, RI, later line was Loudoun Co, VA, into Washington, and Allegany Co, MD, some moved into Garrett Co, MD. I would very much appreciate any information regarding the parents of Daniel GREEN(e), who was married to Sophia SIGLER both b. c. 1758-1770, they had lived in Allegany, and Garrett Co, MD. They moved with their families to Licking Twp, Licking Co, OH. Time frame would have been late 1700's to early 1800's to present time. Any assistance in locating my missing family is greatly appreciated. Thank you. Ken

    1. Re: [MDGARRET] King - Warnick
    2. Walt Warnick
    3. My 1995 book "Warnick Families of Western Maryland" lists two people named Daisy M. Warnick. One Daisy was born about 1883, and the other Daisy was born about 1881. A birth date of 1883 is consistent with the marriage record you found. So, below, I provide information from my book about the Daisy M. Warnick who was born about 1883. The 1900 census listed Daisy M. Warnick, born in October 1883, daughter of Franklin L. Warnick and Cormula V. ----. The household was in the Deer Park community of Garrett County. When Cormula died in 1912, her will named daughter Daisy. By that time, Daisy's surname was Schaumbry. My information about this family is sparse, and I would like to add to it. Besides Daisy, other children in the Franklin L. Warnick household in 1900 included: William B. Warnick who was born in December 1880; Ralph H. Warnick was born in June 1885; Mary B. Warnick was born in September 1893. I have nothing further about any of these people. If the Daisie May of your marriage record is this same Daisy M., then it would appear that after Albert King was killed, his widow Daisie remarried to man named Schaumbry. I hope this helps. 3. July 16, 2002 I posted the obit for Albert King (partial below) asking if anyone could identify his widow, WARNICK. I now have the new Marriage Record book published by the Garrett Co. Historical Society, compiled by Beth Friend. KING, Albert James, 22, of Garrett Co., single, married on 29 Aug 1901, WARNICK, Daisie May, 18, of Garrett County, single. Can anyone identify Daisie's family? Pat-T -- The Garrett Journal, Mar. 10 (Albert J. King) Death is sad at any time, even when it comes and take away the old, who have lived their “Three score and ten,” but when it comes and takes away the young man, just starting out in life, with a young wife of only a few years of married life, it is doubly sad. Yet such was fully realized when train No. 8, on Monday morning, brought home the mangled remains of Albert J. King, son of Emanuel B. King of near Deer Park. Deceased came to his untimely end on March the 5th, inst, at Yellow Creek Bridge, No. 55, on the Cleveland and Pittsburgh railroad, in Ohio by the bridge giving away, and deceased and five others were hurled into eternity.
