This was Riley Paugh's 2nd wife. I knew Riley personally. My parents took me to visit in Mt. Storm, Grant Co, WV when I was a child and we stayed at Riley's place many times. His 1st wife, Bertha Lillian "Betsy" Bosley, died in 1959. I never knew Susan Friend. Thanks for any info on this, Lynn In a message dated 11/2/2003 5:58:24 PM Eastern Standard Time, Pat125@erols.com writes: Lynn, I descend from Old John's children, John Jr. and Charles. 3. Yes Pat it is genealogy and some day will be part of the legend of the Thompson-Friend family. I have collected legends as part of the genealogy that I have gathered on my husbands family. It helps us to know more about them. Kathy Pat Thompson <Pat125@erols.com> wrote: Jon Marie, Without Bonnie McCroby Wuensche posting part of the Voters List to her McCrobie MyFamily.com site I never would have found the full listing to post to the Garrett Co. Side Note: Tonight in Frederick County, Maryland we saw the Northern Lights and as fate would have it, I had all three grandchildren here to show them the lights and tell them how many moons (I told them years, but I won't post that here) it has been since I saw them last in Garrett County. I tried to impress upon them the importance of remembering this night so that someday they could tell their children. I am sorry if that is not genealogy, but to me it is. 3. Mary Jane Dugan, Please contact me offline at fuzzylee@cfl.rr.com so I can send you the picture of James O'Brien. We had to change to a new server and when we did we lost our address book and all the save e-mails. Then the e-mail program we are using would not allow me to send messages to the list. This is why I am now using yahoo.com to send messages to the list. Modern technology can sometimes be so baffling! Now, Catherine Mattias had a brother who married a Knepp. John Samuel Matthias married Emma Knepp. That Emma's father was Peter Knepp. He was also born in Germany. So I believe there may be a connection with Martin Knepp, and Emmas father Peter Knepp. However Peter was born in 1841. Martin was born in 1818.
