Bonnie, I believe you may not want to believe everything you read. This time line has been questioned. I found it posted elsewhere on the Internet and sent it to the Mailing List, I didn't check it for accuracy before doing so. If it is incorrect, I apologize to the List for posting it. Here is the article: Any part of Illinois from 1781 to Statehood in 1818 could have been Va. Any Part of Indiana from 1781 to Statehood in 1816 could have been Va. Any part of Kentucky from 1781-Statehood could have been Va. Any part of Maryland from 1775-Statehood in 1792, could have been Va. Art thought some of you, who might find connections to the names he is sending from the records of the Catholic church, might be interested in some findings regarding those same names who are buried in the Catholic cemeteries of Garrett County. When I sent the information to Art I was able to show my findings by using a different color font. Since I can't do that and send the information to the mailing list, my information will start and end with ***. Some of the names you didn't find I will double check as I remember some were very hard to read and I could have been wrong. Thanks a million! Wow - that is almost scary! Pat, this could change everything for some of my names! I wondered how I found some McCrobies in Illinois with no clue how they were connected... -------Original Message------- From: MDGARRET-L@rootsweb.com Date: Thursday, November 27, 2003 5:20:03 AM To: MDGARRET-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [MDGARRET] time line I found this posted on another genealogy site and thought it interesting. Any part of North Carolina from 1728-Statehood in 1779 could have been Va. Any part of Pennsylvania from 1752-1786 Any part of Tennessee from 1760-1803 So, if a reference is made to an ancestor being born in Virginia as early as 1728, or as late as 1863, he could have been born in the areas mentioned above. ==== MDGARRET Mailing List ==== If you need help with this list, make sure to email the list administrator, Carol Hepburn, at chepburn@cox.net.

I was just wondering, if he was related to Israel Thompson, than there would be a tie in as Israel was Silas Fitzwaters half brother. Les, No, my Thompson family (husband's family) was from Howard County Maryland. I have a deed made 1818 showing them in that area.
Pat, Is your Thompson line tied into Israel and Catherine Lower Thompson? Les, Ruth Fitzwater is this only Fitzwater that fits into my family tree (direct line) and that is only because she was the first wife of John W. Junkins, so she is not really an ancestor of mine. I would still like to know about her and also about Elizabeth Anderson. My Murphy line connects to the Howell line. Mary Margaret Murphy, was my grandmother, her sister was Hattie Belle Murphy 1879-1951 and she married John William Howell, 1878-1941. Pat-T
