    2. MJDUGAN
    3. Hi, Does anyone know, who would know where people are burried in the Bittinger Cemetery ? My great grandfather Charles Frederick Nolte and Barbara and Martha Bittinger his wives are suspose to burried there, I was there and could not find thier graves but there were small stones that laid up against a small bush, names could not be read, and they were near Jonathan "Jonas" Bittingers grave. The Bittinger church said they have nothing so do with the cemetery Thanks MJD MARY JANE --------------------------------- Do you Yahoo!? Protect your identity with Yahoo! Mail AddressGuard

    2. Sam, I am certain that it is Cober, not Cover. Google Cober Somerset PA and you will see various listings. Not that I can't be wrong! I often am. Beverly

    2. I would like to know what roots you did find for your grgrgrandmother. Was she English or German? I am descended of BEECHLEY, and am very interested in sorting this out. Thanks, Janice in Southern Idaho (where there isn't much snow YET!)

    3. Bev: Are you sure about the spelling? It's been several years since I've been there, but I'm pretty sure it was "Cover". The name was in large white letters on the red barn. The farmhouse and barn are down over the hill on another road from the one you get into the cemetery. The old John Bauser and Philip Bitner farm cemeteries are nearby. 3. Beverly - You spelled Wilbert Beeghly correctly. I knew him several years before he died. He found the Beeghly tombstone on the farm where Michael had lived but Wilbert did not put it there. Janice, another Beeghly descendant.

    2. Hi Kathleen. Cora was not a Frazee, she married a Humberston, we have some confussion in our family tree Cora was a Van Sickle or a Friend. My grandfarther Loyd had a step brother named Reese Friend, a brother named James Van Sickle, I am not sure if Cora was a step sister (Friend) or a full sister (Van Sickle) Have you received any thing from my daughter Lee Anne Van Sickle If we can be of help let us know. Harry D. Van Sickle ( I go by Dan hope we didn't confuse you)

    1. Re: [MDGARRET] McHenry
    2. I'd like to post some information my dad, Bud Railey, wrote for me about McHenry MD where he was born. His parents had the C.M. Railey General Store on old State Route 37, now US 219 and the intersection of Bumble Bee Road. The store was built in the early 1900s, and his parents, C.M. and Edith Merrill Railey, sold it in 1830 to Henry and Flossie Merrill and moved to the Deep Creek Bridge area where they had Lakeside Park, Railey's Cottages, and in 1932 built the Stone Tavern. He wanted to record what he calls the "oldtimers" in the McHenry area from about 1900 to 1930s. He welcomes any additions or corrections, and he may be able to help folks with family history questions. Here goes: Charles Mahlon and Edith Merrill Railey; Byard Railey; Woody Brant; Ed and Emma Deal; Abraham Demonville Huff; Pearl McLean; Bill Walton; Charlie Savage; Fred Bland; Noah Pysell; John Kurtz; Earle T. Glotfelty; Hubert M. Bowman; Henry and Flossie Merrill; Asa & Nina Glotfelty; Harland Bowman; Walt Bowman; Arthur Savage; George Glotfelty; Jake and Lily Knox; Mike Smith; John Glotfelty; Jim Glotfelty; Edmund Harvey; Arch Glotfelty; Bennett Paugh; Charlie Barr; Matt Storey; Marira Drane; Ogilvie Halsey; Jack Brant; Dave Shank; Willis Eckerd; George Sloan; Tut and Sadie Edgar; Stella Bowman; Sid Harvey; Milt Edgar; Charlie Peck; Gorman Thayer; Spide Thayer; Eddie and Louise Browning; Elmer Haulenbeek; Doc Bullard. Some businesses he recalls to about 1933 are: Glotfelty Garage, Hubert M. Bowman General Store and Post Office; his family's General Store; Ed Deal's Blacksmith Shop; Matt Storey's Restaurant; Hatfield's Bicycle and Novelties (now Point View Inn); Ferndale Tea Room (later the Cellar Door), Lakeside Park and Stone Tavern, Halsey's Snack Bar, George Sloan's Coal Mine, Cabin Lodge, Rainbow Inn. I'll be happy to forward questions or corrections to my Dad. Beverly Railey Walter

    1. Re: [MDGARRET] Michal BUECHELE descendents
    2. Hello Janice, There are many questions about Barro Inken (sometimes seen as Luken) in general. I understand that Wilbert Beeghley (sp?), a well-known genealogist for this family, put the tombstone there. The cemetery is located on a farm in Beachdale near Berlin (also close to Meyersdale) in Somerset County, PA.. This area is also quite close to Garrett County, where my Beeghly ancestors moved from Somerset PA. Beverly

    2. Beverly, thanks for the correction the cemetery name. But, I have that for Barro INKEN....is that just an assumption that got put in the file, do you think? Also, for Michael, I have Buechley Fam Cemetery in Somerset Co., PA.....should that be corrected to the Elias Cober Farm as the location for the family cemetery. Are we talking about the same location here but with two different names? I have never been to PA, wish I could visit someday. thanks for all your help, Janice

    2. I also have a lot on the Beeghly (spelled lots of ways) family. Michael is buried on the Cober farm, not Cover. It is a beautiful little cemetery. The marker has both wives' names on it, although it is uncertain where Barro is buried. Beverly Railey Walter
