    3. Hi, I just wanted to share the following link: http://www.ancestorsonboard.com/ There was an article on my homepage about this website - it contains passenger lists for passengers who left British ports. So far the article says that only the records from 1890-1899 are posted, but by the end of the year they are hoping to have up to 1920 posted. It also contails records for home/orphanage children or "Barnardo children" - children from Britian who were sent to countries such as Canada or Australia between 1869 and the early 1930's. I don't know if this will help anyone, but I thought I would pass it along. Good Luck, Wendy

I would be very interested in this book. But may I ask what exactly you mean by "I have been documenting all descendants..."? Do you mean you will personally confirm all the info in your book? Or do you mean you are collecting files from others (without confirming their material yourself) to add to work you have personally done? If this is the case, will you indicate what info you have confirmed and what info you haven't in this book? . Bye for now, Kathleen

    2. I have done a relatively small amount of work on my husband's ancestry, which includes Stewart, Bittinger, Switzer, and Warnick, among others. Most of these people were in Garrett County, Maryland and surrounding counties in West Virginia, formerly Virginia. I'm just not sure how these families fit in with what you have. I am certainly interested and will share what little I have. Perhaps you can take some of these back several generations from where I have been able to go. Cherry Stewart (in Albany, Georgia)

    3. Thanks. It has been just over a year since I took the position with NewsBank and they have been terrific to work with. In fact they launched their new product: GenealogyBank on almost the very anniversary day of my working with them. It's done pretty well. See: www.GenealogyBank.com Today I had a Stark relative in England say that he is sending me a file of 1,000 descendants of Jacob Teskey & Elizabeth Stark .... until today that was all the info on had on them. He even told me how Elizabeth fit in ... I didn't realize that she was my 3ggfather's sister "Elizabeth". My 3ggfather ... Andrew Stark (Elizabeth's brother) married Mary Teskey (Jacob's brother). Looks like that line is going to grow some. That line apparently remained in the UK. I will know more about it after I see his file. Small world. Looks like it's going to take even longer to "wrap-up" this book. What a nice way to begin the New Year!!! 3. The Frostburg Museum, which is actually in Allegany County, has one large section dealing with coal mining. They have quite a few books on the subject and other information. The museum is open 1 to 5, week days, during the summer months. Other than that I don't think anyone has any other information. Lots of Allegany and Garrett County list members have tried over and over to find info, with no luck that I'm aware of. Connie > Can anyone tell me if there is a Miners Museum or Library in Frostburg and how to contact them? I'm still grasping at straws trying to find death date and place of burial for Henry/Henderson Taylor. I found him in 1900 living in Frostburg, then in 1910 he is still living in Frostburg but his son James is the head of household.

    3. Rick, If the mine was around George's Creek you might find some information here: http://www.whilbr.org/GeorgesCreek/index.aspx -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Rick Simpson Sent: Friday, December 29, 2006 8:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [MDGARRET] Franklin Mine My 2nd great grandmother's obituary (Elizabeth Jane Simpson) mentions that her husband Samuel died from injuries received in the Franklin Mine 22 years prior to her death in Bloomington in 1905. It says she was buried beside her husband in the Bloomington graveyard. It also mentions that she was "a most consistent member" of the M.E. Church. A few questions please for anybody who may be familiar with the Bloomington area: Would the Bloomington graveyard have a more formal name now? Does the M.E. Church still exist? Does anyone have any info on the Franklin mine? Does it still exist, etc.? Thanks, Rick Simpson ====================================== Looking for your Garrett County ancestors?
