Dorinda: This is getting interesting . All of my early settlers in Maryland were on my mother's side of the family. Lord Calvert's doctor, Dr. Brisoe was the first of my line, some place the Haddons came along also very early on. Both were of course U.K. citzens, however around 1749 the Charshee's (my mther's line) arrived in Baltimore harbor as refugees from from the edict of the French King against Huguenots (Protestants) and they had fled Santo Domingo. Upon arrive with others in Baltimore harbor they left the ship and walked up the street some blocks to Grace & St. Peters Church (Episcopal) and had their three children baptised. I have actual copies of these baptism forms, that was the only thing they did, otherwise they were welcomed to become citizens and they did. Gordon
