On July 13, 1869, historian James McSherry, of Frederick, died. He wrote the first History of Maryland, published in 1848. On July 13, 1944, Dr. Albert L. Pearre, who began working as a pharmacist on South Market Street, in Frederick in 1884, died at the home of his son, Dr. A. Austin Pearre, at 304 Upper College Terrace, at the age of 78.
