Good Morning, I haven't researched in Frederick County, MD for a long time and hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am descended from William Shields who was a surveyor, large property owner and contemporary of Samuel Emmitt. Various sources show his wife as Jane Bentley Williams, a Welch widow and daughter of John Williams. I would like to find a marriage record or other documentation for Jane and the marriage which according to the internet was 25 April 1754 either in Frederick County or Lancaster County, PA. Can someone tell me where marriage records for this time might be? Also, William's son, John Shields married Mary McCollum or Collins, DAR says Collins, Ancestry has dozens of trees saying McCollum, can't find any documentation. Their marriage would have been in the 1790s I believe. By 1799 they were in East TN. Thank you in advance for any help on these. Stephanie in Oregon
