    3. On February 6, 1784, Harriet McPherson Brien, daughter of John McPherson and after whom Harriet's Chapel Episcopal Church at Catoctin Furnace is named, was born. She died April 22, 1827, at Auburn near The Furnace. On February 6, 1851, a public meeting of Wolfsville area residents was held to consider the formation of a new county. On February 6, 1865, the actions of Francis M. Smith, a Frederick native, at the Battle of Dabney's Mill, VA, garnered him a Congressional Medal of Honor. On February 6, 1985, a contract was awarded for the conversion of the 1862 Frederick County Courthouse into Frederick City Hall.
