On April 25, 1783, a number of people living near Israel's Creek attended a worship service and then retired to the home of Col. Joseph Wood for "a most elegant entertainment" in celebration of the end of The Revolutionary War. On April 25, 1970, two men were killed when their light plane crashed just north of The Frederick Municipal Airport during a routine Civil Air Patrol exercise. On April 25, 1971, Frederick City Police Private Landis H. Wolfe shot and killed Charles Lee Brown after Brown tried several times to shoot Officer Wolfe.
