Dick Folkerth, In your ENGLE line, do you have a man [possible first name of Solomon] who married Barbara MEASEL [various spellings] in MD and moved to Ohio before 1840? They had a daughter named Elizabeth. Thanks, Jane Richard Folkerth <folkerth1@sbcglobal.net> wrote: Re: [MDFR] HEFFNER/HAFFNER, JULIAN, BARTGIS, NAYLOR, ENGLE, RENNER DORINDA Thanks for posting this. It will help me locate the land of my Engle ancestors. But there is one thing ... the abstract mentions John Renner and his wife Lydia. This particular name combination puzzles me. I know of a John and Jacob Renner in this area at about this time; they were the sons of another John Renner (died ca 1798) and his wife Mary (maybe Mary Wine). I also know of another brother in this family named Daniel Renner ... who had a wife named Lydia. The thing that puzzles me is the coincidence that brothers John and Daniel both had wives name Lydia ... since the name Lydia is not all that common. Would it be possible for you to check the abstract book to confirm that Lydia is named as the wife of John Renner ?? I included snippets of the abstract below to put this question in context. Thanks for your help and thanks again for posting all these abstracts. Several of them have helped me.
