On May 29, 1854, Ann J. Crawford, 67, became the first person to be buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick. She died the day before her interment. On May 29, 1986, Frederick J. Bower, prominent local attorney and activist in Democratic Party circles, was appointed to the Frederick County District Court. He left the bench in March 2005 upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. On May 29, 1991, District Court Judge Herbert L. Rollins was elevated to the Frederick County Circuit Court by Governor William Donald Schaefer.
