The History Moment lists the following today. On April 22, 1775, William Elder, a native of England who is thought to be the first resident of the Emmitsburg area, died and was buried in the old Roman Catholic Cemetery near where Mt. Saint Mary's College was founded in 1808. I am wondering if anyone knows if there are any records for this ' old Roman Catholic cemetary', what it is called now etc? I am seeking the grave location of a Catholic ancestor from Adams Cty PA and would like to see any records that exist for this cemetary.
