The presentation will include a handout on the best web site resources, a bibliography of Irish research references, and suggested source materials. There also will be a brief discussion of FamilySearch.org and finding sources through the LDS. 10:20—11:20 Session #2: Dubliners: Research in Dublin and Catholic Ireland This session will focus on records available at the National Archives Ireland, National Library of Ireland, Heralds Office, Valuation Office, and other locations in Dublin, what records they hold, and how they can be of use to researchers. Records of the Irish Quakers and other protestant records available in libraries and the resources available in Heritage Centers will be discussed. 11:30—12:30 Lunch (Sandwich and salad buffet and beverages are provided) Local history and genealogical titles from the Historical Society of Frederick Co. bookstore, as well as books by Ms. Anderson will be on sale (cash, check, and Visa/MC accepted). 12:30—1:30 Session #3: Belfast Protestants: Finding Your Ancestors in Northern Island This session will include a discussion of PRONI, the Linen Hall Library, various tax records and guild records available in Northern Ireland and the Presbyterian Historical Society. Catholics in Northern Ireland also will be included. Time permitting there will be a discussion of Irish Military Records (at the British Archives in Kew) and the Irish Garden. 1:30—2:30 Informal discussions and information sharing Patricia Abelard Anderson is Librarian at the Montgomery County Historical Society. She is the former publisher of Western Maryland Genealogy, has published nine volumes of Frederick County Land Record abstracts, and has abstracted many land records of Montgomery County. For thirty-years she has researched the ancestry of famine emigrant Anthony Dwyer from County Tipperary to San Francisco, through LDS centers, San Francisco and Syracuse, New York Catholic Church records, and Dublin and Tipperary resources. She is a native of California and has resided in Maryland for thirty years. Her talks will mix the joys of traveling and researching from home, using online resources, and resources available from Salt Lake City via loan.
