On April 7, 1814, John Walker bought a 269-acre tract of land from Nicholas Randall for $26,975, on part of which the Town of Walkersville was later located. The deed was recorded on May 2. On April 7, 1865, Richard Potts, Jr., son of former U. S. Senator Richard Potts, and the man who built the Potts House at the northeast corner of West Church and North Court Street in Frederick, died. He was buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. On April 7, 1876, Dr. Charles H. Conley, who married the daughter of former Maryland Comptroller L. Victor Baughman, was born.
