On February 26, 1760, a lottery was held to provide $500 for a fire engine for Frederick City and County. Any additional revenues were to go to the construction of a market in Frederick. On February 26, 1927, the Brunswick Church of God was dedicated. On February 26, 1994, Dr. Martha Church announced that she would retire as president of Hood College on June 30, 1995.
