    3. I have added a link in the Military section to the Soldiers and Sailors System which is connected to the National Park Service and where one can lookup their military ancestors. I also added the link to the old Maryland Prerogative Court wills abstracted by Carson Gibb (on the Archive site). The period ranges from 1743-1760. This is in the County Records section under the Will Abstracts. The Maryland State Archives has been experiencing quite a bit of downtime on their site lately. I am a little delayed in abstracting equity records right now, but have been working on another project. I originally was abstracting the very old Chancery Court Records which are only housed at the Archives and are loose papers in folders, some extremely fragile and falling apart, literally. I thought this was a project I would be able to complete in a few years; however, I haven't been able to pursue this for quite some time. I did obtain a copy of the index for Frederick, Carroll and Washington counties though before the Archives changed their system. Therefore, I have decided, to place these indexes on the site in perhaps assisting others to know what may be available there. I will add links to the abstracts I have already completed. So, I have finished Carroll and Washington counties. Look for it in the County Records section under the Chancery/Equity link. I will be working on Frederick county next and, since it is larger than both of the other two, it may be a while before it's finished. If anyone has any of these abstracts and they would like to add them to this site, please email me and I will add it giving credit to the submitter. Hope this is helpful. - Dorinda Shepley - Dorinda@MidMdRoots.com www.MidMdRoots.com
