    1. Which Keefer brothers owned 156 W. Patrick St.?
    2. I have a question about the following entry in the history notes that John Asbury so kindly posts for us. >>On August 27, 1926, the Barbara Fritchie Association purchased the Keefer Brothers property at 156 West Patrick Street in Frederick. The buildings were later torn down and a replica Fritchie home built on the site.<< Does anyone know to which Keefer brothers this refers? I am looking for the parents of the two Keefer grandsons of Joseph (Yost) Greenwood who were named in Joseph's 1828 will, Ludwick (Lewis) and Joseph Keefer. Perhaps by following the property owners backwards I can find a relationship. Ludwick Keefer (1803-1880) married Rachael Nusbaum in 1833. They both died in the Linganore District of Frederick Co. Their 8 children would have been deceased before 1926 and couldn't have owned 156 West Patrick Street, but Ludwick's grandchildren would be in the right age range. Joseph Keefer (1805-1860) married Margaret Coppersmith in 1832. They appear to have had 12 children. I know less about them. Any suggestions gratefully appreciated. 3. The owners of 156 West Patrick Street were Frank B. and Charles S. Keefer, Tinners and Plumbers. Frank lived at 32 E. South Street in Frederick and Charles at 105 West South Street. The 1880 census indicates that Frank's father was George W. and his mother Mary E. living on South Street. At that time Charles is not listed and Frank is "9" years old which is a two year descrepancy from the 1900 census listing his age at 27. The Maryland 1890 census was mostly lost, so there is no way to verify Charles in Frederick who does not seem to be in Frederick in 1900. Confusing!
