hello all... between 1782 and 1799 George Scheifler and his wife Maria Magdelena were the sponsers for at least 8 baptisms. I assume that the children and their parents were associated with the Zion Lutheran Church of Middletown... 1782 Jan 11 //Johnathan Muller s/o Conrad M. and Anna Maria Anna Maria Fischer d/o Peter and Anna Maria d/o jacob klein? 1785 Jan 14 Daniel Rautenbusch s/o Daniel and Christina 178(3)-(4)? Frederick Phrene s/o Christian and Elizabeth Anna Watts d/o John and Elizabeth 1789 Johannes Keplinger s/o Adam and Margaretha 1799 ? Werthenbecher c/o Jacob and Elizabetha in addition there is a note of a baptism of brother and sister Joshua Scheifler b 19 seot 1822 Leanna Scheifler b 23 Aug 1825 i beleive the parents are Gidean Scheifler and w/ Maria there is also mention of the baptism of Peter Klein and Anna Maria Erlebachs daughter Catharina and the sponser was Catharina Scheifler in my search for the maiden name of George's w Maria Magdelena any addition or correction to these facts might be extremely helpful... if any one recognizes any of these people please let me know.. the baptisms were listed in the records of the Zion Lutheran Church in the archives in annapolis.. oddly there seems to be no mention of the deaths of George and Maria Magdelena.. does anyone know if the Scheiflers moved on ..perhaps to Ohio.. it seems unlikely they were probably well on in years by 1799.. as always ...thanks jay cline __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
