I am looking for any record of a birth of Catherine Troxell, supposedly b. in Frederick, MD about 1773. It is believed her father was George Troxell/Draxel/Troxel/Troxall/Draschsel, b. ca 1735. He died in 1783. He wrote his will on 6 Feb 1783, and it was entered for probate on 15 Mar 1783 and the distribution of the estate was recorded on 18 June 1785. Supposedly they were mentioned in the Elizabeth 100 Frederick Co. census of 1776. Elizabeth was named as wife, although she may have been a 2nd wife. Apparently both parents died as the children moved to Augusta Co. afterward. Catherine's brother Peter gave permission for her to marry Michael Rogers in 1791, giving the reason that her parents were dead. Can anyone find, or have they seen, any records of any of this? I have seen 2 different versions of who Catherine's father was and am trying to verify which one really was. I would appreciate any help. Thank you. Marian Rogers kmnana@tds.net
