I am looking for any info on John (Johannes) Keplinger and his wife, Mary Smith, that can be added to what I already have, most of which comes from a Keplinger descendent, Larry Smith. John Keplinger b. 13 Sept 1789 in Lower Antietam Hundred, Washington Co. MD Mary Smith b. abt 1787 <Washington Co., MD> John and Mary were married 20 Apr. 1811 Washington Co., MD by Keedy Parents and siblings of Johannes: John Adam Keplinger b. 30 Jun 1746 in Montgomery, PA d. 1817 in Washington County, MD Margaretha Grimm (Wife) b. Abt 1794 in Lower Antietam Hundred, Washington Co. MD d. WV m. Elizabeth Cost Note that two of John's brothers, Adam and Joseph, ended up in Tuscarawas Co., OH. Mary Smith had a brother (Alexander Smith) and a sister (Ann Elisa - Elizabeth, believed to be wife of George Crumrine) who also went to Tuscarawas Co., OH. I've not been able to locate John (or Mary) in the 1820 Census. It is assumed that Mary is still alive in Feb 1826 when she was listed in her father's Will (Yost Smith/Schmidt). However, in the first Will Estate Distribution Record of Yost, dated 9 May 1827, she is only mentioned in the attached note "John Keplinger and wife, see list of debts" . She is not mentioned at all in the 2nd and 3rd Estate Distributions of her father, Yost. If anyone has researched the other Keplingers, or there spouses, and have come across an obit, baptism sponsor, or whatever that mentions John and Mary, please let me know. Thanks. Jim
