Indenture records were kept by the Orphans Court. Mother's name would not be given if the father is alive. or is it likely that an 18 year old would be indentured since the usually bondage/apprenticeship began about 15 and ended at 21. Some years of indenture records were published in Vols of"Western Maryland Genealogy" magazine Vol 6 # contains years 1797-1808 but no Timmons found. ---- CSMWRA@aol.com wrote: ============= Does anyone know where I might find indenture records for early Frederick County. County or State? In the search for ancestry, I found that Charles Timmons indentured his 18 year old son in 1803 to Edward McBride. Does the indenture show any mother listed since he was too old to have been the product of Charles current marriage. Any help would be appreciated.
