    1. [MDFR] I have a couple questions..
    2. Hi! My name is Randi Boyer and I am researching my family history. Most of my primary research has been in Washington County so I am new to the Frederick County mailing list. I have a few questions about places to research etc. I have been to the library in Frederick already but was wondering about other resources available. I was also wondering if anyone on this list is researching any of the following surnames in the area: Eakle, Boyer, Hurt, Hirsh, Martell, Hartman, Burck, Wisner, Cecil, Eyler, Rohrback, Ruby, Calp. One more question before I go. I have a brick wall with my gr gr grandmother Ada Frances Rohrback(married name). I have not been able to figure out what her maiden name is nor her parents names. I will list all the information that I have on her now. She was born February 18, 1872 and was born near Middletown. She married Charles Albert Rohrback(not sure when). They had 4 children Hattie Cordelia Rohrback, Henson(Hanson) Henry Rohrback, Louella Florence Rohrback, and Charles Clayton Rohrback. She passed away March 14, 1954. Her obituary states the following: The News Frederick Maryland Monday March 15, 1954 Mrs. Ada F. Rohrback, widow of Charles A. Rohrback, died at the home of her son, Charles C. Rohrback, Gapland, on Sunday Afternoon at 3 o'clock, aged 82 years of complications after being ill one month, She was a member of Locust Valley Church of God and was born near Middletown. Surviving are two daughters Mrs. Hattie Wise, Gapland, and Mrs. Luella Butts, Locust Valley two sons Henson H. Rohrback, Baltimore, and Charles C. Rohrback, Gapland, eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends may call at the funeral home in Boonsboro untill Thursday noon. The body will lie in state in Locust Valley Church of God from 1 to 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon when services will be held. Rev. Gerald Carbaugh will officiate. Interment will be in Locust Valley Cemetery William F. Bast and Son, funeral directors. I found a article in the newspaper a while ago and it had her and her son visiting a Mr. and Mrs. Henson Boyer but I can't find anything other than that connecting her to Boyers. It's not unusual that her son and Mr. Boyer would have the same first name but it's interesting. In census documents I found that Henson Boyer had a daughter named Ada F. but her estimated birth is 1874 which could be wrong. The only other lead to her last name is in her daughter Hattie's obituary it list Hattie as the child of Charles and Ada Barnes Rohrback. I have searched for Barnes in Middletown around the time she was born and couldn't find any. Boyer seems like the more logical last name but I would like further proof. Any places that I should check or any suggestions anyone has for me would be appreciated. Her first child was born in 1895 so I am assuming they were married sometime in the early 1890's. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! Randi Eakle-Boyer
