Help! I've been searching for the parents of the above George Green, b. in MD 1788, most likely in Frederick County. He says in his War of 1812 pension record in an affadavit of 1850, "he was 62 years old and a sixty-two year resident of Frederick County". He married Margaret Carmickle in Fredco in 22 Dec 1810. He bought lots in Lewistown, FredCo in 1840 and sold them in 1856 as " George Green of Carroll County". He & his wife were back in FredCo in the 1870 Census, living with a daughter and her family, and that is the last track I've found of them. At that time he would have been 82 years old. Many thought that he was the son of Francis Green and wife Sophia who were in Fredco at this time and had several children bpt, one of whom was a George. However, I have just gotten the results of a YDNA testing I had done, and it showed there was no relationship to that Francis. Because he was in Carroll County in 1856, and no evidence of purchasing land, I thought he and his wife might perhaps be visiting or living with one of his children for a while. Does anyone have a Green who might be related to this George Green? Or a clue who he might be related to? I would appreciate any input. Margaret G.
