    3. On February 19, 1821, the Parish Sunday School of All Saints Episcopal Church in Frederick was established during the rectorship of the Rev. John Johns. On February 19, 1837, the Rev. S. W. Harkney preached his first sermon at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick. On February 19, 1895, William T. Delaplaine, founder of The Frederick News and The Great Southern Printing and Manufacturing Company, died of pneumonia at age 35. He left a widow and four sons. Mr. Delaplaine contracted his fatal illness during a food and fuel drive for the poor of Frederick during a very harsh winter of 1894-95. On February 19, 1923, the Woodsboro Homemakers Club, called the Woodsboro Demonstration Club, was organized through the efforts of Mrs. J. P. Feiser.
