    1. Re: [MDFR] Kramer-Devilbiss
    2. Hi! The Kramer/Krammer/Cramer family were German Reformed. When they are found in a Lutheran book it is usually only as witnesses. The Devilbiss family is also Reformed. Johannes and Anna Margaret were married by the Rev.Philip William Otterbien as per the Records of the Evangelical Reformed Church in Frederick on the same day that Georg Kramer married Maria Magdalena Holtz. (May 8, 1763) Keep in mind that Glade Reformed Church Records don't begin until 1769- and yet they probably formed in the 1750s with the ministers visiting from Frederick. The Kramers and the Devilbiss owned land on the other side of the Monocacy River-in the Glade. (in fact the reason I knew to look at the Glade Church was because a Cramer attended the UCC church I worked for in Baltimore-and she had graduated from Frederick High School in 1924 with Pop- but she was from the "country" and attended Glade Reformed.) >From Maryland German Church Records, Volume 16(Glade Reformed Church, Walkersville, Frederick County, MD 1769-1836)translated by Frederick S.Weiser: Communion List, 8 July 1770 (this list includes many names- I have chosen a few) George Teubelbiss, Jacob Kramer, Johannes Taubelbiss,Anna Margartha Taubelbiss, Peter Kramer. This book also contains baptismal records for the grandchildren of Johannes and Margaret. Son John and wife Mary's children Adam, Catharina, Anna Maria, Maria, etc. Please e-mail me if you need any of this info- not sure which child of Johannes and Margaret you are looking into. >From "Names in Stone"by Holdcraft: Devilbiss, John s/o John and Margaret 13 March 1776-20 June 1822(Walkersville, Glade Reformed Cemetary) wife Mary died 15 February 1832, age 46. Melinda, great granddaughter of Katie Maud Devilbiss
