    3. On July 29, 1819, Historian James A. McSherry, who wrote the first History of Maryland, was born in Littlestown, PA. He lived in Frederick at the time of the publication of the history in 1848. On July 29, 1839, Milton G. Urner, first president of the Frederick County Bar Association, was born near Libertytown. He died February 9, 1926. On July 29, 1848, Judge Abram Shriver, who served 40 years on the Frederick County Circuit Court, died, just seven years after retiring. On July 29, 1869, ground was broken to connect the Baltimore & Ohio and Pennsylvania railroads in Frederick. On July 29, 2015, the replica Barbara Fritchie house on West Patrick Street in Frederick, was sold at auction to the Ausherman Family Foundation. Marvin Ausherman placed the winning - and only - bid of $200,000. He said he planned to repair the property and re-open it to continue its tradition as a historical site in downtown Frederick.
