After my Solomon Hardy and family left Maryland and Virginia the children removed to Warren, Allen and Logan County, Kentucky. I found a record in the :Abstracts of Wills and Settlements , Logan County, Ky. 1838-1856" the following record : THOMAS O. DRANE Book H, pp 111-116 : "To Sally Ann, wife, 140 acres land on which she lived on when married, marriage contract is to be carried out and executed, Elijah Gorham is to be trustee for Sally and children, also receives land, slaves, tools, cattle, and furniture." "George Washington and Thomas Jefferson Drane, sons, each receive a slave and $500 for theiir education. Andrew Jackson Drane, son, receives $200. To Thomas H. , son, 200 acres of land, slave, horse, corn, and $500. To Walter H. , son, surveyor's compass (money has been spent on his education and he is now very wealthy) ; to James Festus, son, slave ; to John M. , son, slave and all increases, wagon, 200 acres on Red River where he now lives ; to Westly, son, $300, and same note as on Walter's bequest ; to Philip E., son, slave, $200 and 286 acres on Red River to include my mansion house ; to Rebecca McGruder , daughter, slave and increases ; to Mary Tupper, daughter, slave and increases ; to Caroline Grady, daughter, slaves and increases ; to John F. Todd, relationship not given, $500 for education of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson Drane, sons." Reserves 1/8 acre for family burying ground. Some slaves, crops, etc. to be sold and divided among children. Codicils dated 5 Nov. 1850. Witnessed by William I. Norton and R. N. Beauchamp ; 22 Nov 1850, witnessed by R. N. Beauchamp and Singleton corbin. This is a very lengthy will and all items are not listed here but all heirs are listed. Date written not listed. Exec ; Eelijah Hise, John Farmer. Wit : R. M.
