Jan 10, 1794 from John McConchie, Mary Stone Jones, Mary Stone, Gerard Fowke, and Margery Fowke, his wife, of CC, to William Dement of CC, for 265 £, part of a tract of land called Market Overton, situated in CC, and bounded by Walter McPherson's part of Market Overton, the dividing boundary between Wade and Stone, containing 265 acres. Signed - John McConchie, Mary Stone Jones, Mary Stone, Gerard Fowke, Margery Fowke. Wit - Henry H Chapman*, James Freeman*. Recorded Jan 10, 1794. William Dement b. Apr 23, 1752, St. John's Parish, PG Co. was the son of John Dement and Sarah Fenley. Sarah Fenley was b.Feb.27, 1717 St. John's Parish, PG Co. Sarah was the dau of Charles Fenley and Elizabeth Harris m. St. John's Paris 1711. Wm Dement m. Elizabeth Bryan Aug 27, 1775 Trinity Parish, Charles Co, MD. Wm and Elizabeth had a son named John Fenley Dement. Prince George's Land Records 1739-1743 - Liber Y - Page 67. Jun 23, 1739 from Zephaniah Wade of Prince George's Co, Gentleman, to James Adams of Prince George's Co, joiner, for 52 £- 10 shillings sterling, part of a tract of land in Prince George's Co called "Markett Overton", laid out for about 205 acres. Signed - Zepha. Wade. In the will of James Adams of 1750, "To wife, Mary (he m. Mary Webster), during life, the 1/3 part of land I now live on, containing 211 acres, being part of tract called "Market Overton". To son, William, and heirs, half of that tract I now live on containing 211 Acres, part of "Market Overton"; likewise give an equal proportionable part of personal estate with his other brothers and sisters. To son, James, but if sons William or James die without issue, property to son, John. To daughters Elizabeth Adams and Mary Adams, 1 slave each. Executrix wife, Mary Adams." Witnessed by John Stoddert, Thomas Webster, Thomas Muro(Munro). As you can see, I don't have all the "Market Overton" trail, but there was a family connection via Wades.
