Could be your John's Father and Grandfather HARRIS, JOHN, SR., Prince George's Co, 2 Sept. 1775 21 Dec. 1776 To Son Benjamin Harris, land "The Ridge" containing 200 acres, Edy Harris relict of son James Harris to have part of aforesaid Land where she now lives during life and she to pay to the Lord Prop, whatever is due, also stock and all household furniture. To grandson John Harris Robey, Negro man Sangoe. To grandson William Harris, bed, blanket, rug, sheets. To dau. Lydia Steal, bed. To Son John Harris' daughters Ann Owen, Elizabeth Wilson, Mary Burch, Eleanor Wedding and Sarah Robey, 5 shillings each. Wits John Webster; Robt.     3. Do you know if these HARRIS or HARRISS families connect to John HARRIS father of Barton HARRIS who died about 1793 in Kershaw, SC? He may have married an ABBOTT. A son, Barton married a Mary WRIGHT and possibly a Catharine ADAMS. I know there were men named Barton HARRIS in Prince George's. This one had a daughter named EPSEY who died in 1838 in SC who was married to a John MCVOY. Thanks for any information.
