This is a little more current question, but does anyone know the name of the Storey who was game warden in Charles County maybe in the 50's & 60's. I am interested to know his wife's name. Do you have some data that Samuel was the son of John? Norma, Thanks for the info about Mary Hanson not having the maiden name Morgan. Definitely do not want to pass on incorrect information. The main reason I have the Hanson family is because one of the Clements family married into it. The Clements are my ancestors. Judy Miller [email protected]
Far from me to be a doubter (double grin!), but it might well be that the two wives named Mary might be the same person (Mary Morris) and that a birthdate is wrong. I have some difficulty with Walter Storey having two daughters each named Elizabeth unless the first one died before the second one was born. According to Newman, Elizabeth Story Hanson died abt May 1764, pretty late in the game. Perhaps Norma might share her logic on this one with us? Samuel Hanson is my 7G Uncle. - Bye from Bill On Apr 9, 2007, at 2:52 AM, Norma Lundgren wrote: > There were 5 daughters of Walter Storey. Hi, List, Changing the subject line from "My Hardy boys and Luke Marbury and Elizabeth Hanson" to "Walter Story". Since we moved to discussing the Storeys, I have a question: Does anyone know how Walter Storey's last wife was shown to be Anne Hughes? Also, does anyone know how Anne's first husband, Samuel Compton (died before 12 Jul 1703, Charles County) was related to the St. Mary's County Comptons and the family of William Timothy? Bye, Norma

There were 5 daughters of Walter Storey. There were two Elizabeths, the elder, his first child and d/o his first wife Mary (unknown), married Benjamin Warren and Samuel Hanson, the younger, the second child of him and Mary Morris, died sometime after 16 Oct 1739 when she deeded her land to Philip Jenkins (her nephew?). Hi Jamie: I am most interested in the John Hanson you have who married Mary MORGAN. Does the book give the source of Mary Morgan's surname? I have never seen a surname for John Hanson's wife, Mary. I was always told Mary Hanson was a daughter to John Hanson and Elizabeth Hussey. This is the first time I was told she was a grandaughter. Mary and William Clements had a daughter named Elizabeth who married William Mudd. Elizabeth Clements and William Mudd had Henretta Mudd. Henretta Mudd md Nicholas Sansbury and they had Francis. Francis Sansbury married Mary Eleanor Smith (daughter of Nicholas Smith & Martha Dyer) and had Julia Sansbury Julia Sansbury md Thomas O'Bryan (son of William O'Bryan & Elizabeth Kincheloe) and they had Eleanor Elizabeth O'Bryan. Eleanor Elizabeth O'Bryan md Jim McLoughlin and had John McLoughlin. John McLoughlin md Louise Wimsett (daughter of Charles Wimsett & Vivian O'Brian) and they had Mike McLoughlin. Mike McLoughlin md Barbara Montgomery and had Jamey McLoughlin (ME). >Jamey, >I have Mary Hanson, daughter of John Hanson (son of John Hanson and Mary >Morgan) and Elizabeth Hussey married to William Clements. Hi Gwen, I don't know about your Morgan line in the USA but I have a RAGLAND family on my mother's side of our family that married into the MORGAN family and they all are from Glamorganshire, Wales. This line of my mother's goes back to the British Peerage and the Royalty in Europe. My Morgan line I have records on goes back to 1400-1500. If this interests you email off list and I will gladly share with you what I have. Marianne Dillow
I have a James MORGAN that I am looking for in Maryland and I have never found a record of him there. The Berkeley Parish register said that James and Jane were married in Maryland in 1673. Are there any MORGANS in Charles Co. in 1673? Weynette Parks Haun, Old Albemarle County North Carolina, Perquimans Precinct, Births, Marriages, Deaths & Flesh Marks 1659 thru 1820, (Durham, NC: Weynette Parks Haun, 1980) transcribed from Microfilm C.077.60001, NC Archives, Raleigh, NC. p. 3 James MORGAN and Jane KNEA was Maried by a magst_[torn] Mary Land the 12th of October 1673. My only clue as to his origins is this: Here his cousin says he is from Glamorganshire, Wales. 1659. 7 September. MORGAN THOMAS of Glamorganshire, yeoman, bound to PETER JONES, mariner, to serve 3 years in Barbados. (BRO) Peter Wilson Coldham, The Complete Book of Emigrants, 1607-1660, (Baltimore, Md., Genealogical Publishing Company, 1987), pp. 275, 435. If it is the same man, or more likely his son, here he says that he is related to James Morgan 1709. In the name of God amen. I MORGAN THOMAS Doe give all that I have to my Cozen JAMES MORGAN Except one young Horse & two cowes which I give to JNO ANDERSON If please God I dye. Sept 19th 1709.
