Hi I was browsing the web and found this. Lots of names etc. from Cecil county. http://www.risingsunmd.com/williammcnamee.pdf Leslie Beall Lewes, DE
Thanks so much for putting that on the Internet! I learned several new things about my ancestors in the brief time I went quickly through it. Now I'll store it for more enjoyment. Unfortunately it doesn't print out well. As for the poor printouts, I went to google.com and searched for the string williammcnamee.pdf and then clicked on view as HTML. I then printed out the pages that I was interested in in a bit of a cleaner format. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cathy Berger" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 6:43 PM Subject: Re: [MDCECIL] Cecil County History on the web > Thanks so much for putting that on the Internet! Leslie and all, THANK YOU SO MUCH! In this document is the first mention I have ever found that tells me that m g-g-g-grandfather was in-fact Ellis Reynolds. I now know that my g-g-grandfather had two other brothers, William and Franklin. Now for some more digging! ----- Original Message ----- From: "Leslie Beall" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, January 30, 2003 10:43 AM Subject: [MDCECIL] Cecil County History on the web > Hi > I was browsing the web and found this. Phil, I guess I didn't see your original request. I have two Ellis Reynolds cards. One I think may lead you further. The other is closely linked to my family. 1. Cecil Co Accts Apr 1833 for Israel Reynolds dec'd names Ellis with all the other nieces and nephews. 2. Ellis paid taxes for Hanna Ginna dec'd. CCo Accts Apr 1840. Hannah was probably sister of Jesse Ginna who married Hannah Reynolds who was dau of Jacob Reynolds. In Hannah's will she names first her sister Mary Reynolds, a niece Hannah G Reynolds, along with other names including my family. Cathy, I did get your earlier response, but did not see the part about Ellis being a Nephew of Israel. I am now curious if it mentioned any of Israels siblings. The record I got from familysearch.org indicated that Ellis was the son of Samuel Reynolds and Ruth (lsat name unknown). I still have not seen anything that would relate to this for sure. What I do have are some copies of indices to land records in Cecil County. Two records are of deeds FROM Ellis Reynolds TO Joseph S. Reynolds. One from Ellis Reynolds to Samuel Krause Jr. One FROM Joseph S. Reynolds TO Ellis Reynolds, one from Hester Reynolds to Ellis Reynolds et. al (by Power of Atty), another from Ellis to John Harris, and two from Ellis Reynolds Et al to the State of Maryland. I don't know any of these folks, but if the name rings a bell for someone else, perhaps it will help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cathy Berger" <[email protected]> To: "Phil Dennis" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, February 01, 2003 10:41 AM Subject: Re: [MDCECIL] Cecil County History on the web > Phil, > > I guess I didn't see your original request.
