Hi, all, I'm writing to ask how to get the death record for my great grandfather, Malvern H. WOOD, who died in Cecil County on May 22, 1909. Thanks to the Cecil County Historical Society, I finally have a date to go by but the Maryland Archives has temporarily stopped taking requests for vital records unless they are needed for legal reasons and their site says to obtain copies from the Maryland Department of Health, Vital Records Division. So, I got online today and downloaded the form for death certificates from the Dept. of Health. But, the form states that they do not issue records prior to 1969 for genealogical purposes and that if you want a death certificate for genealogical purposes, please contact the Maryland State Archives. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I should proceed, short of hiring a researcher or driving 3 1/2 hours to the Archives? Thanks for any help you can provide. Isabella McMasters [email protected]
